Baptismal Liturgy - Welcome Jon Mohney!

Baptismal Liturgy - Welcome Jon Mohney!

On Sunday (December 29, 2019), our St. Sava Church had the unique opportunity to partake in the Ancient Christian Baptismal Liturgy. The practice of Baptism in Orthodox Christianity has its roots dating back to the Jewish Traditions of the Old Testament. In the Orthodox Christian Faith, it became very specifically the act of a person’s death and resurrection in and with Jesus! In Orthodox Christianity, the Ancient Christian Baptismal Liturgy is unchanged since the early Church (A.D. 33). With that being said, on Sunday we all welcomed – Jon Mohney, the newest “Warrior in Christ” of our Parish into the Holy Orthodox Faith! Jon chose Lex Medich as his Kum (Godfather) and is very excited to be a part of St. Sava’s as we enter into the new year and (God willing) for many years to come! God Bless...Mnogaja Ljeta!
