Božić (Orthodox Christmas) 2026
Mir Božiji, Hristos se rodi!
Мир Божији, Христос се роди!
Peace of God, Christ is born!
St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church recently celebrated a joyous and spiritually uplifting Božić (Christmas). The festivities began on Tuesday, January 6, with the traditional Badnje veče (Christmas Eve) blessing of the Badnjak, followed by a Vigil Service and warm fellowship that brought together both our Serbian Orthodox faithful and many friends from the wider community. On the morning of January 7, we gathered in a spirit of reverence for the Divine Liturgy of the Nativity, celebrating the Great Feast of the Incarnation of our Lord God and Savior.
On Tuesday evening (Badnje veče) we were deeply honored to have His Grace Bishop Irinej join us for these services, alongside visiting Deacons Daniel August and Mark Matejevich and our own Proto Stevan Rocknage. His Grace’s presence and fatherly blessings served as a beautiful reminder of our Church's unity as we prepared our hearts to receive the Christ Child. We extend our sincerest gratitude to the many family and friends who joined us during this holy time; please know that you are always welcome in our parish. May God bless you throughout 2026!
Mir Božiji, Hristos se rodi! (Peace of God! Christ is Born!) GLORIFY HIM!
