Rooted in Shadeland is a committee of the Federation of Circles of Serbian Sisters, dedicated to preserving and stewarding the Shadeland property for generations to come.

Through thoughtful fundraising, transparent financial practices, and strong partnerships with camp, diocese, and community leaders, we honor the legacy entrusted to us while strengthening community involvement. Our work is grounded in responsibility, collaboration, and care—ensuring this cherished place continues to thrive.

It costs approximately $150,000 each year to manage and maintain the Shadeland property. Current diocesan funding supports Shadeland operations through mid-2026 only, creating an approximate $50,000 funding gap for the remainder of the 2026 calendar year.

With diocesan agreement, 100% of funds raised by Rooted in Shadeland go directly to the Federation of Circles of Serbian Sisters account and are used solely for Shadeland.

In coordination with the diocese, Rooted in Shadeland & the Federation will oversee the release of funds to cover Shadeland’s approved bills and operational needs. Strengthening transparency and trust so our community understands exactly how contributions are being utilized.
