In early 2020, a lot of planning and creative ideas were laid out for the inaugural year. All of our volunteers, friends, kumovi, and loved ones wanted to make it as memorable as possible and build upon it for years to come. Similar to just about everyone who lived through 2020, we too were deeply impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. After long debates and a parish-wide vote of whether or not to proceed with a much-scaled back version of the festival, the majority voted in favor of having A “Small” Taste of Serbia in October 2020.
As October grew near and the COVID-19 pandemic raged across our country for much of 2020, we honestly had very low expectations for the first year of the festival. However, thanks only to our Lord God and Savior, Jesus Christ, we are proud to say that it surpassed all expectations for its first year. In 2021 (and God-willing many more years to come), we are happy to continue with "A Taste of Serbia" but enhance the experience - based on feedback we received. Most notably there will be enhanced ordering methods and a much larger menu to choose from. We invite all of you back this year to join us in love and fellowship! Dobro nam Došli! (Welcome!)

- Pre-orders are taken by phone or online.
- Pre-orders must be paid by credit card. Walk up (in person) orders can be paid by cash or credit card.
- Placing an order by phone or online can only be done:
SEPT. 11 - SEPT. 25. - Walk up (in person) orders will be accepted during the days of the event.

SPONSORSHIP
Are you interested in becoming a sponsor for the event? St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church has been a part of the McKeesport community for 123 years! This is our 5th year for A Taste of Serbia. This two-day event will offer a combination of authentic Serbian food, live ethnic music, and a Serbian Kafana atmosphere.
Costs for this event are estimated at $20,000. Our goal is to alleviate some of the cost through sponsorships from friends and local businesses.
With your sponsorship, all the money that comes in during the event stays with the Parish. Please consider contributing through a personal donation or corporate sponsorship.
Sponsorship opportunities are listed below. Please download/complete the sponsorship form and return it with your tax-deductible contribution by September 3, 2024.
Sign Sponsor - $100
- Advertise with a lawn sign to be posted on the Church property throughout the two-day event.
- Inclusion in our A Taste of Serbia Thank You in our annual parish Christmas Bulletin (mailed to 200+ homes.)
Placemat Sponsor - $150
- Company business card or personalized message on placemats to be used during A Taste of Serbia, our 1st place Award Winning Lenten Fish Fry, our Sarma (stuffed cabbage) cook-off, and all Church banquet events throughout the year. (Advertisement for one full year!)
- Inclusion in our A Taste of Serbia Thank You in our annual parish Christmas Bulletin (mailed to 200+ homes.)
Silver Sponsor - $250
- All benefits from the Sign Sponsorship Level PLUS
- Company name included on a 3X6 banner in the Church hall or Kafana Courtyard.
