SPECIAL APPEAL FOR GREECE FIRE RELIEF
Very Reverend, Reverend and Venerable Fathers,
Beloved Brother and Sisters:
The Eastern American Diocese is undertaking a special fundraising initiative to help the endangered Greek Nation, which is being ravaged by wildfires, effective Sunday, August 22, 2021.
His Holiness, our Serbian Patriarch Porfirije, conveyed his heartfelt brotherly concern to His Beatitude Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece, noting that the prayers of our entire Serbian Orthodox family, which has not and will never forget that, in the recent past during the great tribulations wrought by civil wars, had almost as an only friend, the fraternal Greek people and the sister Greek Orthodox Church: "The abundant help that you, our Greek brothers and sisters, sent to Serbian territories was for us not only food, clothes, shoes and other necessities, but also a sign that we have in our vicinity as our closest friends, those who did not desire to participate in the injustice to which we were exposed."
As did our Patriarch and father, we also send expressions of deepest condolences to the families of the victims of the fires, but also express our deep faith that the Lord will place those whose earthly lives were extinguished in the flames, in the dwellings of the righteous.

ПОСЕБАН АПЕЛ ЗА ПОМОЋ ГРЧКОЈ ПОВОДОМ ПОЖАРА
Високопречасни, Пречасни и Преподобни Оци,
Возљубљена Браћо и Сестре,
Епархија источноамеричка предузима посебну иницијативу за прикупљање средстава за помоћ угроженој Грчкој нацији, поводом катастрофалних пожара који су задесили ову земљу, ефективно са недељом, 22. августа 2021. године.
Његова Светост, Патријарх српски Г. Порфирије, упутио је изразе своје братске и срдачне подршке Његовом Блаженству, Архиепископу атинском и целе Грчке Јерониму, кога је замолио да пренесе молитве васцелог српског православног рода, који није и никада неће заборавити да је у скорој прошлости готово јединог пријатеља у великим, ратним недаћама које је преживео имао у братском грчком народу и сестринској Јеладској Цркви: „Изобилна помоћ коју сте Ви, наша грчка браћа и сестре, слали у српске земље представљала је за нас не само храну, одећу, обућу и друге потрепштине, него и знак да у нашој близини имамо најближе пријатеље који не желе да учествују у неправди којој смо били изложени“.
Као што је наш Патријарх и отац то учинио, и ми такође овим упућујемо изразе Нашег најдубљег саучешћа породицама пострадалих, уз чврсту веру да ће Господ у насељима праведника населити све оне чији су се земаљски животи угасили у пламену.
